Unpopular Takes: I Can Choose Not to Do Something Because I Don't Want to
And so can you
I was really into my Sometimes Saturday post last weekend, where I talked about the Bible being reliable but not fully literal. But this week, none of the unpopular takes I have lined up for paying and comped subscribers feel like things I want to talk about. And I can’t think of any other ones I do want to talk about.
So then I was trying to come up with some excuses for why there wasn’t going to be a post today. Like, it’s been really busy and stressful and politics, but everybody already knows that. It’s not like I don’t think you’ll understand. I’m pretty sure you will. Also, the reality is that even though all those things are true, it’s not why I didn’t have a post planned for today. I just didn’t want to.
I decided that was okay.
Then I decided I wanted to tell you about it. And look at that. There’s an unpopular take right there. Probably it’s not all that unpopular, though.
Also, I’m not paywalling this post this week. Because I don’t want to.
I don't always comment on these posts, but I did today....because I wanted to. Ah! Freedom indeed.
That sounds like freedom.
