I don't think I'm quite the audience for your book (although I'm sure it's wonderful), partly because I don't read much nonfiction and partly because of deconstruction experiences that give me a tremendous amount of resistance to Biblical narratives... but I'm just commenting to say that (1) your cover looks really fantastic! and (2) you're super cool, Jenn. Keep on keepin' on, my friend.
That's fair. I think if you read it you'd be pleasantly surprised (based on other feedback I've gotten from people in a similar position to you), but your response does prove my point in this post. 😊 And I absolutely respect your choices about what you are and aren't ready to engage right now. I do want to say, though, to your point about nonfiction...yesterday on Facebook, Fayelle said, "[Jenn] writes wisdom and deep thought and great theology as though it were historical fiction." FTR and FWIW 😁
You're super cool, too, Jeremy. It's been really great getting to know you a bit better the last few months.
Fwiw, I’m a man, and don’t fit the typical image of a deconstructor, but I love the chosen title! Going to order this soon. We need more books like this, and I look forward to reading it. Also fwiw, the title partly resonates because of a recent article I wrote about Peter in the Gospel of John. I highlight the part of Peter’s story before he fully comes to himself through getting close to Jesus, but your way of putting it definitely fits. Oh yay. I probably should have said/thought this book is for people who don't fit in boxes. 😂 I'm really glad you resonate with this. Not tonight, but ASAP tomorrow, I'm going to read your thoughts about Peter in the gospel of John. Can't wait!
This is so interesting! And the cover AND title are... perfection.
I’m so delighted you think so!
