Book Launch Dayyyy!
Title to be read according to the GEICO Hump Day camel. Because it is also Hump Day. And I like camels.
Also upside-down sheep.
I asked Tim at Credo House Publishers if I could use the above image to design t-shirts to celebrate Follower: How Getting Close to Jesus Brings You to Yourself, and he said to go for it, so I did. Then he said, “Too cool! Great color options. That will be fun to have and share, kind of the beginning of a movement.”
That would be nice.
In a society where nobody—even apparently some professing Christians (2020 interview clip, anyone?)—wants to be a sheep, and the word follower, too, is suspect, I feel like this shirt turns the implications of brainless lack of discernment on its head, as it were. Something like, “When it comes to Jesus, I may be a follower and I may even be a sheep, but probably not in the way you expect—and so I’m okay with both those labels.” Anyway, that’s what I’ll be meaning when I wear mine, which apparently just shipped today. Can’t wait!
Anyway, my point is, even though bunches of you have gotten your copy already because you ordered directly from me (and you can still do that), the official launch date of Follower is today!
Thanks again to everyone, from endorsers to Kickstarter backers to early purchasers. It is extremely factual to say that I could not have done this without you.
But also, we’re not done here. Here’s a handy dandy infographic I made if you’re ready and willing to jump into the launch team.
I’ll keep you posted on the party dates, times, locations, and links. Meanwhile, if you’ve read it already, I’d be so grateful if you’d leave a review.
Meanwhile, apart from all the sheep imagery in the book, March was kind of lionesque the whole time. I only managed one exclusive post all month, even though I was planning to write about spiritual disciplines every weekend. (There’s probably some irony to that, but honestly, I’ve been pretty overwhelmed so it’s hard to tell.) I like to hope that if you’re paying to read here, you do like the exclusive content, but that it’s more of a relational commitment. Still, I do apologize.
Everything else here (except the first post of the month, which was our usual monthly digest, plus an announcement of a murder that gets more horrific the more details we learn) has been about Follower in particular or writing in general.

has also written a book. It’s not out yet, but he does a great job digging into the deconstruction phenomenon in the Evangelical church and providing some insights forward. I’m sure he’d be delighted with a preorder, too.

I sang it years ago.
